I wrote a long entry, and it didn't post, so now I am ready to call it a night. Our internet is very sporadic, and it's frustrating. Tomorrow, we leave to pick up a group of 15. We have to take 3 vehicles to accommodate everyone and their luggage.
I am loving being back here, and loving working with these dear people. Providing health care in an area where there is no medical facility is such a need. Pray, as this group comes to work on the clinic building and storage depot, that the Lord will be honored.
God bless you all, and thanks for praying.
Joyce's Haiti Cherie
I have not been back to Haiti for 17 years! I am going back on a short term mission and blogging about it so you can journey along with me.

Arrived safely
After a bit of complication with luggage, and my cosmetic bag missing, I have arrived. It took from 6:30 pm Thursday, until 1 pm on Friday to get to Haiti. We left around 1pm on Saturday from Port au Prince (we needed to pick up groceries and get some other things), then we drove 9 hours to get to Jeremie. It's about 180 miles. The roads a not the best, and we traveled in 4 wheel drive for about 40 miles. Tomorrow, Tuesday, we pray it does not rain, and we plan to go to the job site. It's a dirt and mud road, all the way!
The first team arrives on Saturday, and we drive back with them Sunday. It's a group of 15 and will max out the house. Several are Doctors, some carpenters, and others with willing hands. Pray that the meals will go well (my department :)) Thanks for your prayers. I am rejoicing in being back in my home land!

Leaving Thursday for Haiti!
One bag is packed, and the other is started. Will it all fit? Hmmm...?
See the map below to find where I'll be. Jeremie is in red.

Leaving for Haiti Soon
I am leaving January 5th and returning March 9. Please pray for me,and for the work God has for me to do. Pray for my family as I am away, and the many volunteers who are coming to help care for my mother.
I will be providing hospitality to work teams that come to help with a hospital build.
